Commissions
The Beginning Steps
When possible, I prefer to do my own photography for the commission pieces. Often that is not possible, due to distance, or the subject is deceased. In those cases, I request clear references to work from. Several photographs of the subject may be sent, and I will discuss with you the best merits for which one will make the best painting or drawing. If the reference photos cannot be used, I will inform you, and more can be sent, or the commission will be rejected.
After the pose is agreed upon, an initial sketch and a colored mockup of the proposed idea are submitted to the customer. Any changes to the piece can be made at this stage before the intense work begins. Progress photos and updates will be sent as the piece progresses.
If the customer wishes any major changes to the piece after it has begun, there will be an extra charge according to the time involved. There will be a 20% increase over the base price, per size, per extra figure.
I am versatile in numerous artistic media. The customer can request a specific media, or I will choose a media that best suits the subject.
Price Listings for Commissions
This is an approximate list of prices. With the addition of each extra figure, i.e. person or animal, there will be a 20% extra charge per figure. For returning customers, there will be a 15% discount.

Payment
All commissions will have a 50% non-refundable deposit via mailed check or online via PayPal. Please contact me directly for payment arrangements. The remainder is due upon finishing the piece, plus shipping and handling. The final payment is expected within one week of the completion of the piece unless other arrangements have already been agreed upon.
I am open to payments by installment. It is understood that purchasing a piece of art is an investment, and I wish to help in any way possible. If payment cannot be made upon the agreed time, arrangements can be made with me. Communication is the key.

Notes
No artwork will be sent until final payment, plus shipping and handling, is received. If payment is not received within the specified time, with the exception of prearrangement, the commission will be cancelled. All remaining fees due will be canceled, and all money received will be non-refundable. No exceptions.
If you decide to cancel the commission after it has begun, the 50% down is non-refundable.
All pieces, due to cancellation or non-payment, will be—where appropriate—finished, displayed, and subject to sale and making of prints.
Copyrights
The artist always retains the copyrights for all pieces created. This means the owner of the piece cannot use the image in any advertising or promotional events, or prints/sales for profit, without the permission of the artist.
The artist has the right to use the image in self-promotional media (brochures, advertising, social media), and printed merchandise where appropriate.
Termination of Piece by the Artist
The artist reserves the right to terminate the project at any point during the artistic process, for any reason. Reasons may include unreasonable requests, rudeness, and unwillingness to communicate.
No verbal or written abuse will be tolerated.
